From the city of San Marcos

San Marcos police are looking for a home invasion suspect identified as Joe Ventura Molina, Jr in connection with a home invasion aggravated robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning at a San Marcos apartment complex.

Two men knocked on the victim’s front door and when the victim answered, one of the male suspects displayed a pistol.

The suspects took several items of value from the apartment and fled in a green pickup truck. Evidence collected by police at the crime scene indicated that Molina was one of the two offenders in the robbery.

San Marcos detectives are currently working leads to determine the identity of the second offender, who is described as a heavy set Hispanic male with either a shaved or bald head. Anyone with information on the identity of this male is encouraged to call either Crime Stoppers or the San Marcos Police Department.

Any information on the whereabouts of Molina or the second suspect can be given to Crime Stoppers 512-353-8477 (353-TIPS), toll free 1-800-324-8477, or by calling Detective Brandon Winkenwerder with the San Marcos Police Department 512-753-2300. Persons giving information to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous.

A felony arrest warrant for aggravated robbery has been issued for Molina in addition to a warrant for a parole violation previously issued for his arrest. Aggravated robbery is a first degree felony punishable by 5 to 99 years in prison and or up to a $10,000 fine.

Several people have asked which apartment complex was involved. I have so far been unable to reach the detective who is fielding questions on this one. We’ll update when it’s available.
