From Pedernales Electric Cooperative

Please note that this year’s Board election has been revised to further ensure an open, democratic process. The proxy system has been eliminated, and members will now cast their ballots by mail, online, or in person at our annual meeting.

On May 7, ballots and candidate biographies were mailed to all PEC members. The positions on the ballot in this year’s election are District 2 Director, District 3 Director, District 7 Director, District 5 Advisory Director, and District 6 Advisory Director. Members may vote only for one candidate in each district; multiple or split votes are not allowed. You may vote in one of the following ways:

Online

Online voting is available through a secure external web site set up specifically for the 2008 PEC Board election by Election Services Corporation (ESC), an independent election services company handling this year’s balloting. Candidate names and biographies also are available on this site. You’ll need the personal voting identification code included in your ballot packet before voting can be completed. Visit the ESC voting site to vote online. Online voting ends June 13, 2008, at 11:59 p.m. (CDT).

By Mail

Simply mark the ballot included in the packet and return it using the prepaid envelope. Your ballot will go directly to ESC. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by June 13, 2008, and should not be delivered or dropped off at PEC offices.

Important: If you need a replacement ballot or have trouble casting a vote online, call ESC toll-free at 866-720-4357, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CDT), or e-mail them at pechelp@electionservicescorp.com.

In Person

All members are invited to attend the 2008 PEC Annual Membership Meeting, which will be held June 21 in the PEC Training Center, located at 1506 North U.S. Highway 281 in Johnson City.

Voting for the Board of Directors will take place during registration, beginning at 12 noon, and will close at 2:30 p.m., during the meeting. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. Members also will have the opportunity to learn about Cooperative business matters. Door prizes will not be a part of this year’s event.

If you can’t attend the annual meeting, you may still vote for Board positions by mail or online. Videos of candidate speeches from the May 1 Board Candidate Forum also are available for viewing
