From the city of San Marcos

The city of San Marcos’ arts commission is accepting applications for projects that encourage and enhance the artistic quality of events in San Marcos while promoting tourism and the hotel/convention industry.

The commission will have only one funding opportunity for projects being held between October 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009. The deadline to apply is September 15, 2008.  Applications are available at the Parks and Recreation Department Main Office or online at www.ci.san-marcos.tx.us

The arts commission also has $500 Mini-Grant applications for new and emerging organizations and artists. Examples of previously funded events include Summer in the Park, Fiesta del Mariachi, Walker’s Gallery, Suzuki Strings Workshop, Opening Door Dance Theatre Performance, and the Heart of Texas Chorus Regional Competition.
