Hays County channel: Commissioners court institutes burn ban

Hays County Commissioners instituted a burn ban at its Tuesday morning meeting, prohibiting open burning within the county limits.
The burn ban went into effect at 9:30 a.m. County officials said recent dry conditions have placed the county well within the state’s range for calling a burn ban.
The ban also includes a prohibition on the sale and use of “stick and fin” fireworks.
