How odd no one complained when the City spent money to acquire a site for the proposed Recreation Center. And voters have not had an opportunity yet to express whether they are willing to even build it or not.

While the idea of free sounds great, sometimes you have to ask other questions. Like, does the free site have a road to it? Does it have sewer and water? If not, who will have to provide the cost of those? Will the donor of the site also provide all of this free of charge? Or will the City have to pay to construct those? This infrastructure can be rather costly and can rapidly cost far more than $300,000. Sometimes you do have to look a gift horse in the mouth.
