Another renovation is underway at Central Texas Medical Center. This time it is the third floor medical and surgical unit.

The $600,000 facelift, which is designed to enhance comfort and care, includes new flat screen televisions in each room as well as an expanded nurses’ station, new flooring, ceilings and paint which mirror the recent Hill Country pallet used in the main lobby.

“The renovation is the first step towards making each room private,” said CTMC clinical manager Jaime Stinson. “All of our upgrades are being made with the ultimate goal of always providing excellent patient care.”

Upon completion of the planned $35 million expansion and various renovation projects, all patient rooms in the hospital will become private. The expansion, which is slated to break ground on September 4, includes a new Childbirth Center, a Level II Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU), a new cardiac telemetry inpatient nursing unit and expansion of the facility’s surgical suite.

“Our ongoing facility improvements are continuous in order to ensure that we always meet the needs of our growing community,” said Gary Jepson, CTMC’s chief executive officer and president. “I believe our patients will be very pleased with our renovation and expansion.”
