One of last homes on Aquarena slated for commercial center
STAFF REPORT
One of the last remaining residential properties on Aquarena Springs Drive won’t be residential for long.
The city council recently approved Vance Elliott’s request to rezone two tracts at Aquarena and Zunker Street from low-density residential to commercial. Elliott intends to use the properties, which total just under an acre, for a commercial center including retail, restaurants and offices, according to his application for the zoning change.
The move leaves two homes on Aquarena Springs Drive, which once was part of a “loop” around the town’s periphery but has become a major gateway to Texas State University.
