From the city of San Marcos
The public will have a preview of the new City of San Marcos Conference Center when Mayor Susan Narvaiz presents her fourth “State of the City” address on Thursday, Oct.16.
The event will start with a Ribbon Cutting, Reception and Fair at 6 p.m. with the opportunity for residents to see the new conference center and visit with City departments and partners.
Mayor Narvaiz will present her address at 7 p.m. covering the financial status, major projects and opportunities for the City of San Marcos.
“My goal is to report to our citizens where San Marcos stands today in a variety of areas,” she said. “I will cover such issues as city finances, public safety, community services, economic development and our vision for the future.”
This is the fourth annual state of the city address given by Mayor Narvaiz. A number of special guests will be honored during the address.
The City of San Marcos Conference Center and adjacent Embassy Suites Hotel will open for business later this month with a formal grand opening scheduled in early December.
The city-owned conference center has 77,000 total square feet with meeting rooms and ballrooms ranging from 1,250 square feet to the 28,800 square foot main ballroom. The conference center is adjacent to the new 10-story Embassy Suites Hotel with 283 suites, spa and many amenities.
