Medical Center to host annual community Thanksgiving service
From Central Texas Medical Center
The annual San Marcos Community Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church.
The community is encouraged to come together to share in thanksgiving and praise. A special offering will be collected to assist those in our area who are financially disadvantaged.
“We recognize that Thanksgiving is not only a time to be thankful for our blessings, but also a time to care for those who are not as blessed,” said Gary Jepson, CTMC President and CEO. “Every year we look forward to the Thanksgiving Service as a great opportunity to extend the healing ministry of Christ throughout our community.”
Beginning in the early 1980s, this interdenominational service has been arranged by the San Marcos Ministerial Association. Since 1990, Central Texas Medical Center has co-sponsored the event.
This year, the service will feature an offering that will be entrusted to the local Salvation Army to meet various needs of families and individuals in the community. The Ministerial Association has chosen the Salvation Army to manage these funds because of its experience in efficiently and effectively providing assistance to those in need.
Calvary Baptist Church is located at 1906 N I-35 in San Marcos. For more information about the service or CTMC’s mission outreach efforts, please call (512) 753-3653.
