I have a suggestion for a future improvement for the crime maps.
You all should make a dedicated URL for the crime maps so that people can bookmark that link specifically instead of being redirected to the archived link for every individual crime map per each day it is listed.
Essentially, keep all the crime maps archived still, but have a link such as http://www.sanmarcosmercury.com/crimemap dedicated to redirecting to the latest reported crime map or a listing of all the latest crime maps in descending order with the most current crime map highlighted.
I agree and I think a weekly map would be better. You could update it daily and then archive it at the end of the week.
