Reconstruction of Charles Austin Drive to begin
SUBMITTED REPORT
The City of San Marcos Public Services Department began minor reconstruction Monday on Charles Austin Drive from Hopkins to Aquarena Springs Drive. The project will take four to six weeks to complete.
The street will be closed to through traffic, although traffic to City Park, the Lions Club Tube Rental and Strahan Coliseum will be allowed.
Residents are asked to drive carefully, to watch for heavy equipment and fresh oil and to drive slowly in the construction zone.
The project is part of the city’s annual minor reconstruction of about eight lane miles of streets. The department maintains more than 290 total lane miles in San Marcos.
