The City of San Marcos and Mayor Susan Narvaiz are making preparations for the mayor’s fifth annual “State of the City” address scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, at the City of San Marcos Conference Center.

The public is invited to attend the free event, which will be held in the Veramendi Ballroom at the Conference Center in conjunction with the annual “Information Fair.” A reception will follow the Mayor’s address.

Narvaiz’s annual address will focus on the financial status of the city, as well as major goals, achievements and challenges for San Marcos. She also will present “Spirit of San Marcos” awards and special recognition to several outstanding citizens and youth organizations.

The Information Fair features special exhibits by City departments, as well as City partners, business and community organizations, Texas State University, San Marcos CISD, and other groups.

The Information Fair will start at 6 p.m. and the mayor’s annual address at 7 p.m. at the City of San Marcos Conference Center/ Embassy Suites Hotel, 3101 South IH 35, San Marcos.
